Our intern for 3 months!
Elena Ojeda-Ruiz is a physician, with a Master in Public Health. She is currently finalizing her specialisation in Preventive Medicine and Public Health in Madrid and she is an active member of the Spanish and European associations of Public Health trainees, as well as of a research group focussing on cardiovascular diseases.
Being interested in scientific research, she did an internship as part of her residency program at a primary care research unit. This is where she understood the importance of knowing research methodology as well as applying it properly.
When she started working on her PhD in Epidemiology and Public Health within a clinical trial in primary care with an educational intervention, she decided to apply for an internship as a research collaborator at Cochrane Switzerland. The objective of this collaboration is to deepen her knowledge of EBM (evidence-based medicine), and particularly in transferring the knowledge acquired through this practice.
Her research interests are social epidemiology, health promotion, health education and community health, notably non-pharmacological interventions.
