Questions to federal government about access to Cochrane health information for patients

Parliamentary interpellation for better access to health information

National Councillor Yvonne Feri and seven other members of the Swiss parliament submitted an interpellation about how to optimise health care information for patients. It asks the federal government, among other things, how access to Cochrane evidence for patients in Switzerland could be improved in the long term in order to support the patients’ decision-making process by providing objective and evidence-based health information.

The initiators emphasise the importance of nationwide access to patient-friendly information on medical conditions, diagnosis and treatment options so that patients can make informed decisions about treatment options.
"Cochrane offers objective, evidence-based, continuously updated and independent health information for professionals and laypersons," the parliamentarians write to the Federal Council, which has not replied yet.
