IN SWITZERLAND, COCHRANE REVIEWS ARE FREELY AVAILABLE SINCE 2016!
Since early 2016, thanks to a national license sponsored by the Swiss Academy of Medical Sciences (SAMS), access to the Cochrane reviews is free for all.
Detailed information is available in our News and the SAMS press release published early this year.
WHAT IS A COCHRANE REVIEW?
Each review answers a specific clearly formulated health question.
- Do antibiotics relieve a sore throat?
- Is yoga as additional treatment option for people with asthma effective?
- Does music have beneficial effects on insomnia in adults?
For each question, Cochrane gathers all the existing scientific evidence published and evaluates those, following strict principles who allow determining whether, for a specific question, high quality, relevant and reliable information is available. This approach is a “systematic literature review”. These reviews are the reference at international level for evidence-based medicine and reflect the current state of knowledge.
WHO IS IT FOR?
Cochrane reviews are aimed at patients, healthcare professionals, policymakers, researchers, and any person interested in high quality information in healthcare.
